As an artist, I like to explore art in many different ways, through multiple different media outlets and other such ways. I tend to surround myself with art as it will always keep me inspired to create. One of these ways is through the way I dress. I tend to wear a lot of ‘Graphic Print’ clothing with designs on from shows that I like to watch, to artists who I look up to and admire their work. Over the years of dressing in these ways I fell in love with the brand Uniqlo.

Uniqlo are a Japanese ‘casual wear’ design brand however they have a selection of apparel which is called ‘UT Graphic Prints’. This line of clothing is Uniqlos main line of graphics oriented clothing, and also one of their best selling. They have worked with brands such as Disney creating Mickey Mouse styled items, as well as other popular brands such as Hello Kitty, Pokemon and Sesame Street. Uniqlo also work closely with artists, such as KAWS, Jean-Michel Bisquiat, Keith Haring and even famous japanese artist Hokasai.

Not only does Uniqlo work with artists, they also focus on what is popular at the current time to make their designs based on and who to work with.
For the first Three week project we did I chose to design clothing as I wanted to focus on something I have a passion in as well as me being an artist, it felt right to use Uniqlo as the brand I looked at and got inspiration from.
